The examination, whether you play spiritual man or are the one, indeed is very easy: the closer you are to God, the less you are disturbed by instincts, ambitions and fleshly desires, and the less time you are full with SELF-conceit and worried of SELF-esteem (as compare to him/her). You just do what you should do and share Life with other people like you very naturally. It means all people are the same before God, and everyone is at the learning process: smb learns how to stand up, others- to fall, but everyone learns something like a child...
The truth is the truth, it doesn't need persuasion or justification, and it remains the truth, no matter what others feel, think, say, do; you just live it yourself, enjoy it and share it. That's simple. The greatest sin of humanity is when you consider other man is a sinner and thus less spiritual. I think we don't have right to judge and blame others but edify and point at the way out of the bog they created. Sometimes it's useful to say things as they are, but still there always should be freedom of choice. (Rev22:11). I mean those who seek exactly God will find Him even in the half-truth teaching, but those who is not so sincere and seek smth else, will find only that smth else even in the pure teaching. I think it's quiet fair to receive the reality of God according to our desires...
By the way, the examination for true love is easy as well. Take all the tales of heaven and hell out of your relations with God and people. Unless you play those games, your love will always have self-interest. If you love God because of the ticket to heaven, then whom do you love most: God or self indeed? The same with people around, if you love them, because you feel you have a better part and sit at a higher position on tree of life, then how could you love sincere, it sounds like a charity for the trash? And it's an exaltaion of own future part as compare to others' one,- everyone can love that way. Try to love people considering them HIGHER than you, even if their behavior is too fleshly than you can accept according to your spirituality, perhaps, it's a test from heaven to check your UNCONDITIONAL love... ;)
Note: Please, don't mess up love with high feelings, because feelings are like stomach- everyone has its own. Moreover, high feelings could be caused with an injection of some chemical elements which increase the amount of dophamine, serotonine etc. in your mind and body, and as a result you would feel "flying effect", inspirational mood and love all. But stop, is that possible that God's love can be created via injection? No... So, that "love" when you love chocolate and bite it, bite it, feeling comfortable is not the same love God talks about in His Word... it's just feel-hocolism :)
Ok, I know some people would be shocked, then how to spread a gospel not using heaven and hell terms? Very easy, spread God's values, His reality through yourself and show Jesus (Yeshua) as an example that you can overcome collapse of justice, moral, trust, ideals, friendship, beauty, any of high feelings, reputation, prosperious future, own plans and ambitions and even can loose life, but still keep LOVE toward God the same level as you've had all of the above the better way it could be. Loose yourself, humble yourself (when you don't cover God with self and own abilities). and have faith in Jesus (Yeshua) as the very first Man, who had God's nature inside, and who believed God till the death and was ressurected to life by God. He is the very example for His followers. For me, it's much better than to scare people with hell, sale Jesus as a ticket with a magic ritual, using tounge saying bla, bla, bla like pharisees... and thus save a crowd... from critical thinking. Almost 2000 years people save the world, but it still sucks. Why? Because there is no nature of God inside of believers, there is no light. I don't understand how some can say that they have God inside but still remain slaves to own desires, to say that they live in the kingdom of light when actually all they do is pointing God how to treat them for the price they have paid with praying, fasting, reading Bible and praising Him, giving charity. As I remember, it's about satan is said, that he would want to raise his chair above God's throne. For what purpose? To point God what to do for self. The very thing satan tried to fulfill to Jesus (Yeshua) in the wilderness. The matter was not to create a doubt as commonly accepted but to force Jesus (Yeshua) use quotes out of the whole Scripture for His OWN purpose covering all it as good intentions. (As/if You are Son of God, why don't You use the Scripture for SELF, God loves you, He will satisfy Your needs, try to feed Ego, You are Son of Almighty, become popular, the very first in all, thus God be praised, all the Earth and its wealth can be Yours, just desire them most)...
Well, from physics I know that Light- it gives, but Darkness- absorbs like dark hole do. The same with our desires for self and God's ones for all, motives uncovers all...
If someone wants to say, oh, it's all because of satan, well, congratulation, you follow Adam, the very first human mistake. If you see outside only satan's deeds who spread his darkness in the world and that's why it's unfair, then for you God is also somewhere outside of you. For me, if God reigns, He really reigns over all. The only creature with free will to turn from God and stand against His will through proudness and arrogance is a human, as i remember this is the meaning of the word "satan" (who stands against, resists):
1Chron21:1=2Sam24:1- the same situation
1Pet5:5- about proud which is opposed to God
Jer50:31=Rev18- about Babylon...
Mark8:33 - Jesus (Yeshua) explained why Peter is satan, because he set his mind on man's things, not God's. Peter adviced the Lord to live for SELF, step in comfort road... it's not satan decided to grab Peter and forced him to say so as commonly accepted, but Peter tryed to sale EGOISM for Jesus and thus he became a satan (opposition) for the Lord...
Scripture descrypt Itself, and explain the images for learning very well, people just need to wish to know the truth...
For me, God and satan lives inside and person choose whom to serve and where to be, in the light (giver) or the darkness (taker), and the only stumble block for believer, the opposition to the Lord can be only $Mammon$, money,- Jesus (Yeshua) openly said it Himself. Money can also take time, strength, as a sacrifice and give you peace (indeed temporary), sense of power, friendship of peers. There is money in the bank/pocket, you feel relaxed, you can sleep peacefully, certain of your tomorrow. It's not God gives you peace and certaincy but money. Even if the possibility that you will not wake up tomorrow is still the same 50/50 day after day, still more money can add good mood. See, money really can replace God, not mystical satan which is proud itself that goes by egoism...
I like to see content, substance in the Bible, not shape in the words (2Cor3:6//2Thes2:8), but however I don't insist on my point of view... :)
